Principals Message

I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and reflect on the positive start to the school year here at Narrandera High School. The involvement and cooperation of our students, staff, and families have been very much appreciated.

Earlier this term, we hosted our Welcome to Year 7 BBQ on February 10. This event provided an opportunity for new students and their families to become familiar with the school environment and meet key staff members. Many families attended, and the relaxed setting allowed parents to ask questions and learn more about school routines, support services, and curriculum offerings. We value events such as this as a way to support new students in their transition to secondary school. Thank you to Mr Kelly, Mrs Lucas and staff whose efforts helped make the evening run smoothly.

Our annual Swimming Carnival took place last Thursday as a twilight event. It was encouraging to see many families attend and show their support for our students. The carnival featured strong participation from students, who demonstrated good sportsmanship and competitive spirit. The presence and encouragement of families contribute positively to students’ motivation, and we appreciate your ongoing involvement.

The carnival also involved competition between our sporting houses. Students showed enthusiasm for representing their houses, wearing house colours and supporting teammates throughout the event. We congratulate Gillenbah House on winning this year’s carnival, (with Midgeon a close second) recognising their consistent participation and effort. Acknowledge is also due to all students across the houses for their involvement.

As the year progresses, we look forward to continuing this level of engagement and cooperation across a range of school activities. Thank you again to our families for your support and involvement in our school community.
