On Friday, 27th June, Whittlesea Primary School students participated in our annual whole-school Athletics Carnival. Although the morning was chilly, the sun shone for most of the day, setting the scene for a very successful school event.
Students in Years 3-6 participated in both track and field events, such as 100m and 200m sprints, hurdles, shot put, and discus. Our F-2 students tried something new this year with Simon from Educational Sports Carnivals, who came out to run some fun activities.
The day was a great success, with all students showing great determination and sportsmanship throughout the day. Well done!
Congratulations to Dugat, who were the 2025 House Athletics Champion!
A special mention to Mr. Bowring, who was the winner of our teachers' race for the second consecutive year.
Thank you to all parent helpers who helped run the activities on the day.
Without you, all this day would not be possible.
The District Athletics Team will be released early in Term 3.
It has been a very busy (and active) Semester with a lot of events and activities throughout Semester 1.
We had some notable school events, including our Cross Country and Athletics Day, as well as our Lawn Bowls Gala Day for our Year 4 students (stepping in for our Year 6 students), and the Hockey Gala Day, where our students demonstrated excellent teamwork and improvement in each game.
Our Interschool Sports teams during Term 1 and Term 2 showed fantastic growth and sportsmanship, fighting to the end each week.
The next term will be our last for Interschool Sport in 2025. The sports are Volleyball, Tennis and Softball. We look forward to watching some great games and showing off our skills throughout the Term.
Lastly, a big congratulations to our Girls Gold Football team, who went through Term 2 undefeated and will be moving on to the next round, taking on other schools in our division in Week 1 next term.
Good Luck!!!
