A morning with Brett 'Cardy' Cardwell

This morning, we were excited to welcome Brett 'Cardy' Cardwell,  'cartoonist and author extraordinaire' to Whittlesea Primary School.

Brett met with a small group of Student Voice Team members, who asked him about his work, growing up in Whittlesea, and his current projects. We also invited Brett to get some photos with his artwork before the old toilet block is demolished. Be sure to check out our Facebook page for our interview with Cardy.

The VIDEO can also be found here.

If you're looking for a school holiday activity, the Whittlesea Bowls Club is hosting a morning with 'Cardytoons' on Tuesday, 15th July at 11:00 am. Parent supervision is required, a gold coin donation on entry, and bookings are essential. To secure your place, call 9716 1966.

Thank you, Brett, for visiting our school today. We look forward to engaging with you again in the future!

Looking Forward to Term 3

Term 3 is shaping up to be an exciting and eventful time at Whittlesea Primary School! In Week 3, on Monday, 4th August, our Year 3–6 assembly will take place, where we are honoured to welcome Rob Mitchell MP, Federal Member for McEwen, who will present our school with new flags for our flagpoles.

The following week, on Monday, 11th August, we will hold our Foundation to Year 2 assembly in the gym at 9:00 a.m. One of the biggest highlights of the term comes in Week 5 with our annual Book Week celebrations. This year’s theme, "Book an Adventure!", invites students to dive into exciting literary journeys and discover new worlds through reading. Book Week officially runs from Saturday, 16th August, to Saturday, 23rd August, with our much-anticipated Book Week Parade happening on the morning of Thursday, 21st August.

The Scholastic Book Fair will also be open in the senior library throughout the week. This could be a fantastic school holiday project—start planning your costume now and stay tuned for more details!
