A message from our St Gabriel's Principal
Dear Families,
I hope you have all had a wonderful week! We have thoroughly enjoyed this week with the children. It is always a joy to see our school community bustling with energy, learning, and connection. Term 3 promises to be full of rich, exciting and fun learning experiences. The date for the Art Show is Wednesday 16th September with more details to follow shortly. We are excited to share that the Art Show will take on a new format this year.
Strengthening Our Partnership: Parent Code of Conduct
At St Gabriel’s, we pride ourselves on building a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for all children. To maintain this culture, we want to remind everyone about our Parent Code of Conduct, particularly regarding how we handle concerns.
We completely understand that worries or questions pop up from time to time—that is a natural part of the school journey! However, we ask that parents refrain from discussing these concerns or grievances with other parents in the yard or on group chats. While it is completely natural to feel protective of your child if an issue arises, it is never okay for a parent or carer to directly approach another child at school to address a concern. Instead, please reach out to us directly via email or phone. We want to hear from you so that we can support your child. When we work together openly and constructively, we can find the best solutions for the children while upholding the dignity of all in our community.
Empowering Our Kids: Friendships & Problem Solving
This term our school focus is heavily centered on fostering healthy friendships and building strong problem-solving skills. Learning how to navigate social dynamics is a huge part of growing up!
We would love for you to join us in this mission at home. Try opening up a chat with your children about ways they can solve everyday problems. You might ask them questions like:
By reinforcing these problem-solving strategies together, we are helping our kids build their communication skills, resilience and empathy.
Parent-Teacher Conversations
Finally, our Term 3 Parent Educator Conversations will take place later this term. They are scheduled for Thursday 3 September. School will finish at 12pm on this day. These meetings are a fantastic opportunity for us to connect, celebrate your child’s progress, and discuss any areas of focus. Booking details will be sent out via School Stream later this term so please keep an eye out.
Warmest regards,
Laura
