Year 10 Morrisby Student and Parent Information Session
Tuesday 31 March, 5.30 - 6.50pm
On Tuesday our Year 10 students participated in the Morrisby Psychometric Assessment. An individualised profile is generated from this assessment which helps students discover their own unique characteristics and strengths. Using scientific profiling of abilities, personality, interests and motivation, students are then able to explore related career fields and start thinking about options for the future. Students will be able to access their online profile at this information session and, with their parents, learn how to interpret their report.
We encourage all Year 10 students to attend this information session with their computer. Any queries about this event, please contact Trish Menadue tmenadue@friends.tas.edu.au & Kim Carrodus kcarrodus@friends.tas.edu.au, our Careers & Pathways Advisors.
Catch-up Assessments
Students who miss in-class assessment tasks are reminded that catch-up sessions run from 3.00-4.00pm on Mondays and 3.45-4.45pm on Thursdays. Your teacher and/or tutor will let you know of expectations.
Uniform Reminder
Families are reminded that students are required to wear their Friends’ uniform each day. There are multiple options for both formal and sports uniform. It is important to be aware that non-uniform shorts, including blue branded or non-branded shorts, are not part of the uniform and students who arrive in these will be provided with uniform items to change into.
Please check the Uniform handbook for further information on acceptable items. The Uniform Shop is also able to assist.
Term 2 Co-curricular Sport Sign Up
The following sports are on offer for Term 2:
- Australian Rules Football Years 10-12

- Hockey Div 1 and 2
- Netball Years 9/10

Some offerings have limited places or require early sign-up (e.g. sport by 2 April), so we encourage you to register as soon as possible by logging into SEQTA Engage and clicking on the Clipboard link or directly at https://portal.clipboard.app/the-friends-school.
Parents / Guardians and students can view the available activity selections in Clipboard. Sport activities require parents / guardians to complete the selection to give permission for their child to participate.
For assistance with logging in to your school account, contact the Information Services team via the Support Portal. If you use the "forgot username" option in the portal, you will get an automated response with account activation instructions.
German / Japanese Celebration Day
It’s that time of year again: We have our first Languages Celebration Day! Please come to our German/Japanese Food Sale at lunch time on Wednesday 1 April. See Japanese and German culture come to life right here at The Friends’ School.
Do you feel like something savoury? Head to the undercover gym area to enjoy a traditional German Bratwurst (with or without Sauerkraut/ onions + some vegetarian sausages).
For dessert, enjoy delicious Japanese Mochis, Easter eggs and chocolate milk! The Bratwurst will be $5 and the Mochis, Easter Eggs and chocolate milk will be $1 each. All profits will go to the SHE - Gynaecological Cancer Group. We hope to see you there!
Chamber Music Concert
Join us for an evening of collaborative music-making at The Friends’ School Chamber Music Concert on Tuesday 14 April. This 90-minute showcase highlights the dedication of our musicians from Years 5 to 12 performing in a range of small ensembles. From classical trios to contemporary quartets, the program features a rich mix of genres. Please come along to support our creative music students as they take to the stage and share their music with us all.
This is a free event and all are welcome to attend.
Exciting Opportunity: Host a Japanese Exchange Student!
We are thrilled to be welcoming students from Kochi High School from 25 July to 5 August and are looking for host families from our school community.
Hosting is a wonderful chance for cultural exchange and for our students to build connections with Japanese students. Please don’t worry about space or commuting distance—the Japanese students will be coming to experience everyday family and school life.
If you are interested in hosting a student, please email Lara Wojcik lwojcik@friends.tas.edu.au or come visit her in S302.
