Fair Thank You!

A sincere thank you to everyone who attended and helped at last Saturday's School Fair.

The weather was amazing, the stalls were fantastic and it was a fun family day in support of the Migrant Resource Centre Tasmania. We were delighted to see the smile on so many faces and excellent student participation on the day.

We are currently finalising stall costs, so hopefully we will be able to announce our donation to the Migrant Resource Centre over the next week. Also, keep an eye out for some wonderful photos from the day - sneak peak below - taken by the wonderful, Richard Jupe.

If you would like to provide Fair feedback, please do so via the following feedback form.

Thanks again from the Community Engagement Team, Fair Committee and Parent Reps.

Chamber Music Concert

Join us for an evening of collaborative music-making at The Friends’ School Chamber Music Concert on Tuesday 14 April. This 90-minute showcase highlights the dedication of our musicians from Years 5 to 12 performing in a range of small ensembles. From classical trios to contemporary quartets, the program features a rich mix of genres. Please come along to support our creative music students as they take to the stage and share their music with us all.

This is a free event and all are welcome to attend.

Middle School Donation Drive

The Middle School Student Voice Council are holding their first Donation Drive for the Year, supporting the Books and Boots campaign.

Books and Boots facilitates the donation of pre-loved and new books and football boots to children in remote areas of primary school-age Australia. As such, the Student Voice Council is asking for donations of children's picture books and football boots to be re-distributed to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities nationally.

We are looking for donations of new or gently used picture books for children between the ages of 0-8. Please see the donation guide about what we can and can’t accept.

We are also seeking clean football boots for all ages. Are you a member of a football club? Are you able to organise a larger collection of used boots to donate?

House donation tubs in the Middle School library from Weeks 6-9 to collect Books and Boots, or simply drop off to the Middle School Office (with your House written on the donation!) The House with the most donations wins points towards the House Cup!

For more information about the campaign, or any questions you might have, contact Essie Hoggart, House Leader - Middle School  (ehoggart@friends.tas.edu.au).

Quaker Meetings for Worship

All members of The Friends’ School community are welcome to attend our Meeting for Worship any Sunday from 10.00am, closing about 11.00am, with morning tea available afterwards.

Children are always welcome and there is a Children’s Meeting held concurrently with the Meeting for Worship. They learn about Quaker values through a range of interesting and fun activities. Around 10.50am the children join the Meeting for Worship, settling into the gathered Meeting for the last 10 minutes, usually sitting with their parents.

If you have any enquiries about the Children’s meeting please email the Clerk, Margaret Bywater, rmtasclerk@quakersaustralia.info
