Junior Joeys: Term 1 Wrap-Up! 

What a fantastic start to the year!

As we wrap up Term 1, it’s wonderful to look back at how much our Junior Joeys have grown, explored, and learned. This term has been the beginning of new friendships and learning experiences.

Our primary focus this term was nursery rhymes.

• Active Learning: We explored rhyme and rhythm through hand actions and acting out our favorite stories.

• Creative Arts: From painting to pasting, our nursery rhyme-themed crafts have helped develop fine motor skills.

   

We’ve been working hard on our "big kid" skills to help us navigate our learning spaces:

• Listening: The Joeys are working hard at following instructions, whether we are gathered as a whole group or working in our smaller teams.
• Fine Motor Magic: We’ve been strengthening hand muscles using playdoh, pasting, practicing our scissor skills, pouring and squeezing.
• Gross Motor Fun: Our hall space has been great to practice animal movements, balance on stepping stones, race on scooter boards, and bounce away on jumping balls.

Term Highlights

• Sensory Play: Bubbles, water pistols, shaving cream, the sand pit and jumping in puddles were absolute "winners" for messy, joyful exploration.
• Music & Movement: We loved expressing ourselves by singing and dancing with colourful scarves and experimenting with musical instruments.
• Lunch Orders: The sound of silence hits when lunch is served. 
• Numberblocks: We’ve enjoyed watching Numberblocks on ABC iview, which has made discovering numbers a fun, visual adventure.

• Library: Freetime, quiet and air conditioning in the library have been an afternoon delight. 

   

Everyone is invited to our Junior School Mass this Saturday 28th March, 6pm at St Joseph’s Church, Junee.

We hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Easter break. We can't wait to see those smiling faces back for Term 2 Friday 24th April.
