From the Principal's Desk

Dear Parents,

Happy St Bernard’s Day! Today we celebrate the feast day of our patron saint, St Bernard of Clairvaux.

St Bernard famously stated:

"There are those who seek knowledge for the sake of knowledge; that is Curiosity.

There are those who seek knowledge to be known by others; that is Vanity.

There are those who seek knowledge in order to serve; that is Love".

It is from this quote that our school motto ‘Love Serves’ comes from and we have certainly seen that in action today  and over the past weeks.

Thank you to Fr Leo for beginning our day with a very special Mass and to Miss Lesa for her organisation. During the day the students joined their buddies for an activity to demonstrate how we can show that "Love Serves" in our school community.

Of course no St Bernard’s Day would be complete without our celebratory hotdog, drink and zooper dooper. Thank you to Sarah and the BPC for organising the lunch. A big thank you to Don Smallgoods for their generous donation of the hotdogs and Margaret S for arranging this.

Many thanks to all the parents who helped with the lunch.

Book Week

Book Week began with our annual Book Week Parade on Monday and there were book related art works and cakes also on display. The creativity of students and parents was certainly visible. A wonderful time was had by all. Thankyou to those families who stayed for the parade. All students had the opportunity to visit the Music room to see the creations.  Activities have also included an online author session, treasure hunt & maze activity. Many thanks to our very own ‘Nemo’, aka Miss Julie for her organisation and passion  and  to all of our ‘Baby Sharks’ for their support and work to ensure Book Week is celebrated & enjoyed.

Walkathon

We are excited to announce that our Walkathon raised an amazing $6,671.00! This is an unbelievable result and we are so appreciative of all who supported this fundraiser. Congratulations to our winners.  The 5/6J class raised the most money this year and will keep the trophy in the their class room.

Once again a huge thankyou to our students, the BPC and of course the generous sponsors. We are so excited to be able to plan for our turf project, upgrading and adding built-in games to the turf area behind the adventure playground for all students to use.
