Year 8 Medieval Day

On Tuesday the 12th of August, the Year 8 cohort had members of Kryal castle in Ballarat  come down and take them through a medieval day. 

During this unique experience the students learnt about a variety of the cultures and traditions that occurred during that time period. Some of these activities included board games dating back as far as the 5th century, nobility and medieval weaponry. 

This special occasion was tied in with the Year 8 Humanities benchmark. The task was to complete a booklet showing a wide range of knowledge particular to the topic. To cap off the day the Year 8s had a feast with meals including cornish pastries and barley soup.

Overall, everyone had a great time and were well behaved. Thanks to the hard workers at Kryal Castle for making the long trek down to our wonderful Mordialloc College.
