SEXUAL EDUCATION
In Week 1, students learned about the changes that happen during puberty. We explored how bodies grow and develop, including changes such as increased hair growth, changes in body shape, and the development of secondary sex characteristics. Students discussed how these changes happen gradually and can take several years.
In Week 2, students learned about the reproductive system and the purpose of different body processes such as sperm production, periods, and nocturnal emissions.
We talked about how these changes are a normal part of growing up and how students can manage them safely and confidently. Students were also introduced to the different types of period products available and learned that menstrual cycles vary for each person.
Our focus throughout the program has been on providing clear, factual information in a safe and supportive environment, helping students understand their bodies and feel confident as they grow. - Morris and Finn
TWISTED SCIENCE INCURSION
During our science incursion, students took part in a hands‑on experiment that they absolutely loved. One of the activities was the Skittle Rainbow, where students arranged Skittles on a plate, added water, and watched the colours slowly spread to create a rainbow effect. They then placed a sugar cube in the centre and observed how the colours moved and mixed — a simple but magical demonstration of dissolving and colour diffusion.
It was a fun and engaging session, and we were excited to explore how everyday items can be used to investigate scientific ideas. We all had a fantastic time.- Oli and Eve
