Introducing the Girton Preservation Club: a new Co-Curricular activity for 2024
As we commemorate the 140th anniversary of Girton, the Girton Preservation Club has eagerly been working with the OGA archives to help uncover our rich history. Under the guidance of Ms Lynden Francis-Wright – a former student and daughter of one of our founding members – we’ve been meticulously scanning copies of The Girtonian from the 1920s and beyond, ensuring these treasures are preserved for future generations.
The Old Girtonians’ Association has rooms full of memorabilia that are in urgent need of digitisation before the restoration of Girton House. The Girton Preservation Club will play a crucial role in preserving our school's history by scanning, editing and properly filing photographs and Girtonian magazines for future generations of Girtonians to access.
OGA members interested in helping with this project are invited to get in touch. It would be wonderful to have a separate OGA volunteer team working in parallel with our student volunteers.
For more information on how our members can access the archive, see the Girtonian Magazines article.
