Long day kinder program vs sessional kinder program

- Finding the right kindergarten program

Here at Haven we understand the importance of finding a kindergarten program that works best for your child and family. We have noticed that a lot of families don’t know the difference between both settings and deem one more important than the other. The good news is the answer surrounding the both settings is more straight forward than you think. The gap between them both is slowing closing and we are very passionate about the program we implement here at our kindergarten.

Our kindergarten program

Sessional kindergarten

  • Offer an approved kindergarten program with a bachelor qualified teacher
  • Runs through school holidays
  • Term holiday programs
  • 15 hours of funding plus additional days if needed (per week)
  • False perception of just being ‘care’
  • Quality meals provided
  • School visits
  • Offer an approved kindergarten program with a bachelor qualified teacher
  • Closes for school holidays
  • 15 hours of funding (per week)
  • False perception of being an educational only setting

In conclusion, the objective of a kindergarten program is for children to develop a desire to learn and prepare them for school. It is solely down to how a teacher delivers their program and on what a family is looking for. No setting provides a better quality of teaching, it is what your child takes away from the program at the end of the day.
