Front of House

A Message from Claire

As we are about to close the door on 2020, I have done much reflecting on what an extraordinary year. With COVID-19 tipping our world as we knew it upside down, we saw a new way of life. It was not a particularly nice way, and at times it was very scary. It is really surreal to me as I look back. How are we in December? It feels like it should be June.

As a manager, I certainly was not prepared for what this year threw at me. I have learnt so much about myself and my management

style. I had to manage my team as they went through a range of different emotions and coping mechanisms as we went through two

lockdowns. Our team were divided as we could only have the same employees at the service and was very limited to the small number of children who were permitted to be on site.

While all the above was incredibly stressful, exhausting and at times feeling like we were in the twilight zone. Once we returned to

reality of life, then came reflection. In our industry reflection is of the

upmost importance to professional and personal growth. Through reflection it was time to let go of all those negatives and let us talk about the positives, our achievements.

I am proud of the way in which we worked together to support our Families. I am proud of the way that our teachers accepted the

challenge and learned how to make this strange new world become the best new world for their students.

I thank our parents for the way in which they juggled supporting our children to learn at home with the multitude of other responsibilities. It has been an absolute

pleasure to support everyone through this unique time, and I do hope we all will never go through something like this again.

Moving on forward we have much to conquer for 2021. From January we commence room transitions and welcoming all our new families.

We have teachers moving into different classrooms, and we have some

of our team taking on new roles.

January is about resetting and refocusing. Our teams will put their intentional teaching plans in place, we will pull together our sports and wellbeing programs, along with deciding on our community projects.

We look forward to sharing all of this with you, and we continue to encourage your children to be the best versions of themselves. To help develop and support their intellectual growth, along with social and emotional, physical and see them get another step closer to school readiness.

A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to each and every one of you. Best Wishes for 2021, I look forward to seeing you all soon.
