Carols

One of Bendigo’s biggest Christmas giving events was held on Thursday 28th November, as 2,000 students, staff and parents from Girton Grammar School attended their annual Service of Carols at six different churches around Bendigo.

More than 1,000 gifts were eft at the church altars and under Christmas trees and donated to the Bendigo Unity Church Outreach Appeal, Bendigo Baptist Community Care, St Vincent de Paul and St Lukes.

The annual donation of gifts from students in Prep to Year 11, is a long-standing tradition at the school as part of the annual Service of Carols.

Junior students sung and performed at each Church dressed as traditional biblical characters and angels.

Aherne House Carols

It was a combined effort of students, staff and parents who came together at this year's Carols to produce, decorate and sell cookies in an effort to raise money to help local people in need.  It gives me much pleasure to let you know that Aherne House has been able to raise $705 and this money has been used to purchase Aldi vouchers for Emergency Relief. The vouchers will help disadvantaged people to buy groceries before Christmas.

Many thanks to the  Aherne parents who made the gingerbread cookies, the Aherne parents who donated money to decorate the cookies, the Year 7/8 Aherne students for decorating the cookies and the Aherne students from Prep to Year 12 for buying the cookies. A special thanks also to Cassie Everist who co-ordinated the decorations.
