Diving success for Claire Lumsden 11C

Congratulations to Claire Lumsden who has continued to produce wonderful performances in State School Victoria Diving competitions.

On Friday the 26 of April Claire went to Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre to compete in the School Sports Victoria Region and State Diving Competition. The region competition was in the morning, and Claire had to either come in the top 8 people from the state, or in the top 2 people in the Eastern Metropolitan region to compete in the State competition.

Claire’s 4 dives scored 144.70 points, averaging 36.5 points per dive. Claire came 3rd in the Eastern Metropolitan region, and 4th overall. The State Competition commenced in the afternoon and she dived better than she did in the morning, receiving 156.25 points from the same 4 dives. Claire came 2nd in the State, and outperformed both divers who beat her from the Eastern Region.

Well done, Claire, this is a great achievement.

Senior Table Tennis

Koonung scored a comfortable win to gain passage to the next round of senior table tennis. The A team of Jordy McDonald, Abhi Jay, Philip Apostolou and Jason Wang only dropped one rubber as they eased past East Doncaster 5-1 and Blackburn 6-0. Despite being a player short, the B Team of Mark Hapke, Kunkap Tenzin and Matthew Croyden (in his alternate Koonung sport strip) remained undefeated against B and C teams from the same schools.
