Koonung students attend Box Hill RSL Anzac Day ceremony
On Wednesday 24 April members of the Koonung Secondary community attended the Box Hill ANZAC Day ceremony. Koonung School Captains Annaliese Hawkins and Sebastian Jose read the ANZAC requiem, school Vice Captains, Elizabeth Odria and Tom Kerr laid a wreath for the school and Olivia Foy and the Koonung school choir sang the Australian national anthem to much appreciation from the gathered crowds. Marianne Lee and I were honoured to be invited to the event by the Box Hill RSL and were very proud of our students, who spoke with clarity and solemnity and sang with passion and respect. At the conclusion of the ceremony, our students approached and spoke to many of the attending veterans and once again showed to the community how courteous and kind Koonung students are.
