Student Success Story

Congratulations to Year 7 student Mikaela C for her recent achievement at the Victorian State Solo Calisthenics Competition!

How long have you been involved in Calisthenics and which club do you represent?

I have been involved in Calisthenics since I was 3 years of age, I represent Laurimar Calisthenics College.

What do you love most about Calisthenics?

What I love most about Calisthenics is being able to perform for my family and friends, as I love to entertain on a stage, and bring smiles to people’s faces when they see all my tricks and technique.

Give us a short description of the actual championship competition—things like when, where, age group, how many competitors, and what type of solo.

I competed in the Victorian State Solo Calisthenics Competition on 22 April in the 12-year-old age group, division 2 against 19 other competitors within the state.  My solo was called the Mad Hatter, which was a calisthenics performance.

What was the best part of winning this competition?

This was a dream come true to win the Victorian State Title.  After having a 3-year break from solo’s due to Covid, I was determined to come back and win, not only for myself but also for my coach, and my loved ones.
