Maroondah City Council is a part of the ‘Every Age Counts’ campaign to tackle ageism.
We are looking for school aged children and young people to support the campaign by submitting a 200 word short story about a special older person in their lives. There is a $200 book voucher to be won.
Preschool to Prep - Why is your special older person great?
Send us a drawing of your special person with a short description
(an adult can write the description for you) on the entry form.
Primary - How has an older person helped you in your life?
Write a short story (maximum 200 words) on the online form or on the hard copy entry form.
If you need more space, please use another piece of paper and staple it to your entry form.
Secondary - How has an older person shaped/changed your life?
Write a short story (maximum 200 words) either on the online form or on the hard copy entry form.
Children and young people can submit their stories in hard copy (attached to this email) or online at this link: www.maroondah.vic.gov.au/engAGE
Hard copy entries can be dropped off to the entry form box at Realm library (Level 2, Realm, 179 Maroondah Highway, Ringwood) or at Croydon Library (Civic Square, Croydon) .
Stories need to be submitted by 8pm on Wednesday the 1st of September.
MATRIX invites school aged-children, young adults, teachers and parents/guardians to join us during National Science Week 2021, for a free online screening of Math Circles Around The World, a documentary that celebrates the wonders of the mathematical sciences.
