Year 10 Smith Family Work Inspiration Program

Selected year 10 students attended the city offices of Deloitte in August to participate in a careers focussed event.  Staff from the Deloitte Foundation in partnership with the Smith Family, facilitated the activities giving students opportunities to reflect on their future career journeys and hear about the career journeys of Deloitte staff. 

The second day included tours and an overview of the inner-workings of a multinational consulting company.  Activities such as the ‘Product in a box’ gave students the opportunity to think creatively and reflectively while they developed and pitched potential business ideas inspired by a cereal box and a briefing.

Open Days

It is Open Day season with many tertiary providers welcoming future students on campus during July/August and early September.   All students hoping to go onto tertiary education (vocational or higher education) from year 9 are encouraged to attend Open Days.   A full list of Victorian Open Days can be found here: vtac.edu.au/opendays.

Wurun Update

VTAC

All year 12 students received a briefing on the 2023 processes for tertiary education application through VTAC (Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre) on Tuesday 18 July. 

The presentation covered how to apply for courses, how to search for course, applications for SEAS (Special Entry Access Scheme), scholarships and dates and deadlines. 

A summary presentation was delivered twice to parent and guardian groups during Three Way Conferences.

Students and parents and guardians are invited to make an appointment to discuss transitions from school and pathways including further education, apprenticeships, traineeships, gap years and work opportunities.
