ANZAC Day commemorations

On Thursday students and staff will welcome Liverpool Plains Shire Councillor, Mayor Doug Hawkins OAM to a special Liturgy in commemoration of ANZAC Day the following Sunday.

On Sunday 25th April, students and staff will join

with schools, businesses and community members from our region to march down the main street of Quirindi to the clock tower and ANZAC Day assembly.  This will be led by Mayor Hawkins and special delegates from 11am.

Mass will be celebrated at the regular time of 9:30am in St Brigid's Church.  Students and their families are encouraged to attend Mass then move to assembly area outside the Quirindi Post Office at 10:45am.  Staff will be present to help organise students and then march with them to the clock tower.  If the weather is warm, students are encouraged to bring a water bottle.  All students will dress in full summer uniform and St Joseph's School hat for the march.  Our School Leaders, with guidance from Mrs Long and Mrs Rheinberger, will lay a wreath on behalf of the St Joseph's School community at the appropriate time.  At the conclusion of the ceremony, families are asked to come to the designated school area to collect their child/ren.

Prayer to St Joseph

Hail, Guardian of the Redeemer,

Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

To you God entrusted His only Son;

in you Mary placed her trust;

with you Christ became man.

Blessed Joseph, to us too,

show yourself a father and guide us in the

path of life.

Obtain for us grace, mercy, and courage,

and defend us from every evil.

Amen.
