Primary Girls Softball

On Friday, 7th May, at Jack Brabham Softball Fields, the weather was perfect, the bus driver was amazing (Mr Graham Hobbs), both for giving up his day and umpiring our final game, but the highlight was a special group of 11.

The girls’ softball team collectively put effort into their performance all day, showing enormous improvement in all areas. We were very lucky to be able to give our three youngest members the opportunity to play in a mixed coaching team. Although they missed us, every time they visited between games, they shared new opportunities that had come their way bringing smiles to their faces. Our team highlight was an 11 to 10 win over the Perthville team.

Shout outs today go to our pitcher and catcher, Olivia Hobbs and Minnie Whittle, and First Base fielder Phoebe Lyons. Olivia and Minnie played their positions with commitment and determination. Phoebe took one on the chin for the team, literally, but was stoic. We also had four girls nominated for Western tryouts but due to their Stage 3 excursion clashing with the dates, they decided not to attend. Well done Olivia, Minnie, Phoebe and Millie!

The final shout out goes to the amazing parents and grandparents who came and supported us. Thank you.

Our Literacy Unit this term is called 'Farm to Plate'. We have been learning about how dairy products get from the cow to our plate. After watching the 'Discover Dairy' videos we worked collaboratively to create a poster for our chosen dairy product. We really enjoyed doing this and our posters look amazing.
