Assessment and Reporting

We are quickly approaching the end of Semester 1 and with the end of a Semester comes assessment and reporting. This time of the term can be challenging for teachers and students but it is an important process as it allows a parent or carer the opportunity to engage with the school about the progress of their child.

A major aspect of this process is the follow up parent/teacher opportunities that are provided by the school. It is important to note however, that parents and carers may arrange an appointment with their child’s teacher, year adviser or executive member at any time during the year. This contact is most welcome, as all opportunities to engage with the school, regardless of their nature, help support your child in their learning journey so it is important that our parent/carers feel comfortable and welcomed.

Wellbeing Hub Update

I have been pleased to see the Wellbeing Hub up and running this term and can see that we are making significant breakthroughs for students who have been supported by our Student Support Officer, Aboriginal Education Officer and School Counsellor. On our school website there is information regarding the referral process and you can download a referral form, should you wish your child to engage with the services on offer.

Upcoming Excursions

We have recently sent information out about upcoming excursions and know the financial pressure that is put on families during this time. There are payment options available and should you require financial assistance, please contact me on 6366 8224 and we will be able to discuss options. We will treat all enquiries with confidentiality and do all we can to assist your child to attend these significant opportunities we offer to enhance their academic, social and emotional development.

COVID Update

Recently notes went home and details were also put on Schoolstream detailing what is required should your child present at school with cold or flu symptoms, or if they return after being unwell with these symptoms. The quickest way to get your child back to school is to take them for a COVID test. Results generally come through before the following day.

We apologise for this inconvenience, however, we are bound by the rules set by the Department of Education. If you need further explanation, please ring and our office staff will be able to talk you through the requirements.
