Great News

Starting this week (week 6), some ensembles will return to onsite rehearsals. 

Department guidelines have changed. Some ensembles will return in a Covid modified way and some will continue online and on demand. 

Wind ensembles and vocals are required by the department guidelines to continue online. We have plenty of work to continue with, as we are all working towards recording parts for specific pieces (see individual Google Classroom for details) in Week 7.

The Arts Unit Music Ensembles Applications Open

The Arts Unit music ensembles have gathered an envious reputation over the years, inspiring music excellence each year in hundreds of young public school students across the Sydney metropolitan area. After two very difficult years we at TAU are keen to provide significant opportunities for talented music students to help invigorate their passion for music once again and join one of our 8 highly acclaimed music ensembles (comprising):

·       2 symphonic bands

·       2 jazz big bands

·       A string ensemble and a full symphony orchestra

·       2 vocal ensembles

The standard of these ensembles is second to none, with various groups having performed at international overseas festivals and conferences and winning state and national senior and junior A grade competitions. We realise the importance of fully supporting the wonderful work done by music teachers with their school based music ensemble programs. Students involved in our ensembles bring back to their school ensembles their experience of high level music extension through engagement with experienced and inspirational conductors, and professional tutors. Applications close Sunday 14 November 2021.
