The Principal's Pen

Welcome to 2022

I want to extend a welcome to all the new families joining us this year. I have had many stories relayed to me already about the wonderful start their children have had at Cornerstone and I thank our community for making them feel so welcome so quickly.

The word that I have chosen to frame my year is "new". This has so many applications, especially at the beginning of a new year and I have already spoken to the students about new beginnings. The Bible verse that I used with staff gives us hope, telling us that God's mercies to us are new every morning!

A very obvious new aspect to school this year is the introduction of different COVID-19 restrictions. Thank you to everyone for how they have responded so far. We are all becoming accustomed to the requirement for staff, parents, secondary students and visitors to wear masks indoors and the contact tracing system is up and running. We will continue to follow the instructions from the WA Government and will take advice from the Health Department in the case of any COVID-19 incidents.

Please take this opportunity to look through this issue of the newsletter to see some of the great things that have already taken place, as well as information about what is coming up this year!

"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23
