Principal Team
The end of the year is nearly upon us and we are busy finalising our work for 2018 and preparing for 2019.
ORIENTATION DAY
We welcomed our new Grade 6 students to Orientation Day on Tuesday and the excitement and anticipation was obvious. Mr Ben Murphy, Ms Julie Natalizio, Mrs Julie Jerome and Ms Lisa Rowe, the Transition team and the Wellbeing Team have worked very closely with the primary schools to develop a comprehensive transition program to allow the new students to experience a taste of secondary school in preparation for next year. These young students are looking forward to next year and many positive comments were heard from smiling faces which was terrific to see.

The date for the First Day Conferences is Wednesday 30th January 2019. Year 7 and 12 students only will begin classes on Thursday 31st January with all students beginning normal classes on Friday 1st February. The purpose of the conferences is to enable all students, parents and teachers the opportunity to establish and continue to develop their relationships at the beginning of the school year.
The establishment of student learning goals is an important part of the process, involving
students in the development of skills for independent learning. It also gives us an opportunity to discuss responsibilities and expectations for the school year.
There will be no scheduled classes on this day.
All enrolled students, accompanied by at least one parent/guardian (preferably both) are asked to come to school and meet with their Teacher Adviser for a 15 minute conference on Wednesday 30th January 2019. An online booking system will be used to schedule appointments for this day.
Details will be posted to all families next week regarding this start to the school year including instructions on how to make appointments using the online system or alternatively by contacting the General Office on 5821 4322.
