Athletics Carnival

The Terania District Athletics Carnival was held last week. It was split between Blakebrook Public School on Tuesday (High Jump and Shot Putt) and Riverview Park on Friday. Great job Marshall and Ebony on having a go on Tuesday and achieving commendable results. Well done all those who attended the rest of the events on Friday. 

School provides a broad education and sport and athletics are part of the wide range of learning we offer. Sadly, due to the COVID restrictions, parents were unable to attend, which is really hard, as is everything about this awful virus. Thank you to all those parents who made the effort to get their children to these off-school venues. We know it’s really hard to organise these things and we (and hopefully your children!) really appreciate the effort you made.

Gymnastics

We have been seeking many opportunities for sport this term, including tennis and AFL, but alas, we have been unable to secure any firm commitments. Luckily, we have been fortunate enough to secure the services of the North Coast Gymnastics Academy. Instructors from academy will come to our school to educate the children in the skills of gymnastics this term and we are very excited to welcome them into our school, under strict COVID guidelines. We start next week.

Kindness Award 

We are celebrating kindness at school this term and each week we aim to choose two students who have been particularly kind. They then receive 30 minutes of free time on a Wednesday afternoon.  This week the winners were Hattie and Oli. Congratulations!
