Thank you for sending your children to school!

Muffins and banana smoothies

Attendance

What a great start to the term! For the first three days we had full attendance at school each day! This may not sound like much, but it makes such a difference to the continuity of our learning programmes for your children. It is also clearly observable how much more comfortable the children are, because everyone knows what went on each day at school and no one has to catch up on classroom and playground happenings. Thank you!

Following on from that we have had a few absences, but we were still able to have our promised muffin and smoothie reward. This will usually be for two lucky perfect attenders each fortnight. However, this fortnight we were so excited we gave out home made muffins to all the children who had been at school every day for the past fortnight. (Attendance at the high jump/ shot putt at Blakebrook School and school athletics is counted as attendance at school.)

Well done Eli (who was pulled out of the hat first, but didn’t want a muffin or smoothie) so we then went to the next lucky people, Lilly and Akasha.

Thanks to Donna who made the smoothies and Gaye and Mrs Mac who made the muffins. Let’s keep this awesome attendance going. We hope to have Skirmish at school as a reward at the end of the term, so please keep sending your children to school, unless they have a legitimate reason to be away. Please let us know why they are absent if an absence needs to occur.

Homework Hound

Don’t forget, Homework Hound is available to all students. This online programme supports learning in the important curriculum areas of English and Maths and provides interesting and entertaining online activities for your child. Even better, the programme adjusts the learning to suit your child’s ability! It’s well worth doing and establishes good learning routines at home. Contact the school if you want to become involved. Keep going if you already have!

New Student Representative Council (SRC)

Each semester the children elect a new SRC. This time we opened the options up to Year 3 and above. We held our secret ballot last week and the results were as follows:

President: Sonic

Vice President: Issi

Secretary: Myrtle

Treasurer: Coby

Publicity: Marshall and Kirra

Congratulations to all new members and thanks to previous members.

Cold Weather, Hot Chocolates

By Marshall
By Marshall

The weather certainly has been cold lately, so the Student Representative Council (SRC) has decided to sell hot chocolates and crumpets this Wednesday, 28th July, in the morning. This will cost $3 and is a fund raiser for the SRC. There will also be marshmallows, so don’t let your children miss out on this warm and comforting start to the day.

Coming soon will be a UNO Tournament, also organised by the SRC.
