Fishing at Ballina

On Monday, 23rd November, the children and staff switched from the classroom to the beach and went fishing down in Ballina. Jed proved to be a natural fisherman, catching a whiting half his size!

The children wrote about their day:

I was at the back of the bus playing Nintendo Switch. I was playing Zelda. It was fun! I love Zelda! It is really, really fun to be on the big bus. I was sitting next to Myrtle and Astella. When we got there basically everyone threw sand at Mr Collins. I got some in his mouth! It was fun, but he was throwing us in the water to fight back! It was fun and we also buried him and we played tips and I tipped Gaye and she fell over. It was sooooooooooo fun! It was one of the best days of my life.

Coby

Yesterday we all went to the beach. We got there on the bus. I played Zelda with Zai and Coby. When we got there, we all ran down to the beach. Zai saw a massive sea worm! Jed caught 4 whitings and 1 flathead. Ebony caught 2 toad fish and 1 whiting. Zai caught 3 whiting, 1 toad fish also 1 flathead. I caught nothing. But I caught a yabby with a yabby catcher. I was the only one besides Rusty.

Marshall

Everyone went to fishing. When I got there I got to hold the fishing rod but I didn’t catch a fish but I got to swim. The best bit was throwing sand at Mr Collins and then we buried Mr Collins. Then we had fish and chips and that is the end of my story.

Talan

We went on a excursion to the beach, swimming in my rainbow swimmers and brought a lot, lot of sand on the bus and the playground and home and a bit for you. I was swimming and swimming until it was time to go. Just before we left I jumped on a fish and we got sand off us. We got icy poles and lived happily ever after. Oh and Gaye, she fell over the hole.

Akasha

Larnook P. S. went on a excursion to the beach to fish. It was fun but it was freezing and I sat next to Kyesha and me and Kyesha ate candy canes because we got blocked ears. We had fish and chips and the bus felt like a plane! And me and Kyesha swam.

Kirra

OK! We went to the Ballina Dog park beach. I went on a excursion! Larnook P.S. went on a bus to Ballina to the thingamajig like I said. Then we went fishing. Some of us didn’t, some did. Then we took turns. I stopped fishing and we threw sand at Mr Collins. Then we buried Mr Collins then we put sand crabs on Mr Collins! Then we had fish and chips and watermelon. Then we went on the bus home.

Ebony

I sat next to Marshall and Coby and we played Zelda and me and Coby finished a divine beast. I have to thank the Co-op for fish and chips and Rusty. I caught 3 whiting, 1 flat head, 1 toad fish. We also had sand war against Mr Collins and buried him. It was fun. Theeeee End. I caught the fattest one. Yum.
