ST BRENDAN’S HOUSE ATHLETICS
Our Year 3-6 students participated in our school athletics day. Each student participated in shot put, discus, 100m sprint, hurdles, high jump and long jump. During the week I also ran trials for 200m and 800m events.
It was great to see our students all showing great support and encouragement to each other. They all put in 100% and tried their best. A big thank you to our teachers and Craig Bozelle (Judd year 6) for their help on the day.
And the house winner is …………………….. (the students will find out on Wednesday!!!)
DISTRICT ATHLETICS
Last Friday, we had the Bayside District Athletics Day at the newly surfaced Ballam Park track. The weather was kind and our team of 50 students competed in 100m, 70m, hurdles, 800m, 200m and 4x 100m relay events. What a great day our students had competing at their best, meeting new friends from local schools and being a part of The St Brendan’s team. Congratulations to our students who attended. Thank you to our staff who also attended with our students.
We have the Bayside District Field events on Wednesday 3rd May at Ballam Park.
Students who have successfully made it in Division Athletics won't be notified until late in Term 2. The division athletics will be at the beginning of Term 4.
RUNNING CLUB
Each Wednesday morning I will be holding Running Club. It is open to all of our students and is a course around our oval and playgrounds. This will be an ongoing club and is good preparation for our school cross country on Wednesday 10th May, Running Club is for all students from Foundation - Year 2. Parents and teachers are also welcome to join us for a run.
UP COMING DATES FOR TERM 2
Term 2 is set to be another busy term on the sporting front. The Year 5/6 ‘s are super busy with interschool sport and Winter Lightning Prem.
