C Block Bookshelf Gallery

New joint exhibition in the little Bookshelf Gallery

Meet Minnie and Emily, two fourteen year old artists whose work is now featuring in the C Block Bookshelf Gallery. Both students are incredible artists. Here are their stories:

My name is Minnie and I have loved drawing ever since I was little. For hours, I would sit and draw. I love to draw weird and creative ideas, like how I would get inspiration from Disney movies, such as Rapunzel, Snow White, Moana and the Little Mermaid. And would draw from that.

My name is Emily. I love art and everything that has to do with it. I’ve always wanted to do it as a job ever since I was small. I try to do it whenever I can. I’m a self-taught artist so in some areas I have to improvise but I try my best.

My artwork is all about what I feel like drawing when I sit down and start, it’s a combination of all types of art with lots of mediums. I love drawing with graphite pencils and go over with watercolour. I mainly draw skulls or humans because I feel like those are the best I do. I tried to do other things from time to time, sometimes it works but sometimes it doesn’t. All together I think this art exhibit took a month or two, but it was a stretch and I got bored over the holidays, so that’s where most of the work was done. I do all my drawings at my desk, it’s quite messy but it works.

Materials I used were graphite, watercolour, watercolour paper, canvases, pen, coasters and paper from sketch books.
