Sophie's Farm  

Shoes for Samar and Christmas Care Pack Social Justice Initiative 

Over the past ten years, through the generosity of the Sacré Cœur community, more than 1000 backpacks filled with shoes, personal items, school equipment and toys have been donated at Christmas time to children attending the Sacred Heart Pre-School Learning Centre run by the RSCJ at Sophie’s Farm, in Samar, the Philippines.  In recent years, families have also donated Christmas Care Packs to those in need in the communities surrounding Sophie’s Farm.

In 2022 the Alumnae Association donated $2,500 towards this initiative and $500 to Sr Lydia who co ordinates the program.

During December 2022 and February 2023 six recently graduated Year 12 students travelled to the Philippines for an Immersion Experience at Sophie’s Farm:
