From the Education Director

A message from our Education Director, Mrs Carol Williams.

Dear families, 

The Peterborough principal position was recently advertised for 12 months to backfill David Marino while he is in the Principal position at EJEH until the end of 2021. The panel consisting of GC chair, union rep, a peer principal and Education Director have completed the panel process. I am pleased to announce that Steven Barclay has accepted this position for 2021 starting in January next year. Steven is currently at Findon High as Senior Leader in teaching and learning, curriculum design, implementation and assessment. Steven has also been a leader in various roles at Murray Bridge High, has worked at the University of Adelaide as an outreach officer and prior to this worked in private industry. Steve comes well qualified to take up this 12 month position and will be working closely with the leadership team, the Principal Consultant and me as the Education Director to settle into his role. Later this term Steven will meet staff and visit the school.

I want to thank Sonja Mercer for stepping into the principal position for these last few terms. Sonja has continued the work that was set up by David and the leadership team and she has done this very well. Next year Sonja will return to the leadership role as Senior Years Leader.

I also want to thank staff for the work they are doing with your children this year. Peterborough continues to move forward in a strong way and it is a direct result of the work of teacher, SSOs and leaders.
