From the Principal

Welcome to our School Newsletter for Week 5, Term 4.

I have two very exciting announcements for you. 

Our Student Leadership Team have completed the consultation and selection process for our new PHS Values and our new Principal for 2021 has been appointed!

PHS Values

The Student leadership Team have worked diligently over the last couple of months to create the new values. Their process included:

• Surveying their homegroup and mentor classes, as well as staff, parents and the local community to gauge opinions about the current values.
• Identifying the need for a new set of values, better aligned to our PHS needs.
• Identifying how many new values we would have.
• Creating a shortlist of possible values through paper and online surveys.
• Holding a voting process to select the three new values.

I am proud to announce that, from 2021, the new PHS values are:

RESPECT   -  RESPONSIBILITY  -  RESILIENCE

Upon hearing the top three selected values, one of our SRC representatives exclaim, "Oh wow! I will be able to remember these ones!"

Newly Principal Appointed

On Tuesday I had the privilege of sharing the news with staff and students about our newly appointed Principal, Mr. Steven Barclay. I look forward to welcoming Steven when he visits later in the year. Please see the next page for a message from our Education Director, Mrs. Carol Williams.
