Junior Water Fun Day

On Thursday, students in Years 1 and 2 participated in the Junior Water Fun Day at Terry Tyzack Aquatic Centre. They completed a warm up of water aerobics, kickboard and noodle races, an obstacle course, a Table Tennis Ball Challenge and running in the water races. Swimmers were supported by our Year 6 Faction Captains, thank you for your efforts!

Senior Swimming Carnival

On Friday, students in Years 3-6 participated in the Senior Swimming Carnival also at Terry Tyzack Aquatic Centre. There were many outstanding performances throughout the day and congratulations to the recipients of the Championship and Runner Up trophies as mentioned below. I was incredibly proud of all our competitors who showed determination and commitment to their faction in completing races to the best of their ability.

Congratulations to O’Mara who won the Endeavour Trophy for best cheering and sportsmanship throughout the day. Our overall Faction winners were Veritas with a surprise win, surpassing Dominica and ending their eight-year reign. I think the major highlight for most of the students was the inflatable race at the end of the carnival when they were asked to choose their friends and race their inflatable to the end of the pool.

A massive thank you to those parents who assisted with time keeping, ribbon giving, manning the false start rope, marshalling and pre-carnival set up. A special thanks to Craig Dropulich who started all our races and kept us running early on our schedule!

Students will now be selected to represent OLA at the CPSSA Swimming Carnival early in Term 2. They will receive their letters next week.
