St Philomena's K-10 Athletics Carnival
With participation levels at an all-time high and house colours out in force, the St Philomena’s community enjoyed a great day of fierce but friendly competition at this year’s Athletics Carnival, on Thursday 23rd June.
All students demonstrated their enthusiasm and house spirit, competing in track and field and cheering for fellow house members. This led to some very close results, particularly with our house points. In the end, Goretti came out victorious, narrowly beating Savio. Students participated in a variety of events including the 100m sprint, relays and the all important Champion of Champion. Congratulations to our Boy Champion of Champion, Kolby Seymour, and our Girl Champion of Champion, Haylie Turner.
We had three records broken on Thursday 16th June (field events) and at our Athletics Carnival. Congratulations to the following students: Shaylyn Smith, Jasmine Ryan and Colt Swan. Shaylyn broke the Girls 11 years Long Jump record from 2008, Jasmine broke the Girls 12 years Long Jump record from 2001 and Colt smashed the Boys 8 years 100m record from 2013. Well done!
