WELCOME to...

BPS PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORT!

Hey BPS! 

My name is Merissa Pickford (Mrs P) and I'm the BPS Physical Education Specialist and Whole School Sports Coordinator. A role I absolutely love!!! I love being able to help our students learn and develop the confidence, knowledge and skills needed to enjoy physical activity and movement as a lifelong adventure! PE and Sport is so much more than just playing a game. It's about teamwork, respect, learning how to win and lose, developing team-work skills and give our best attitude and effort in sessions! Remember that your energy is contagious so make it positive!

Below is some introductory information about all things PE, Sport and Community! Enjoy!

BPS CELEBRATION OF MOVEMENT PHOTOS!

To begin our school year I have started a gallery of photos in the gym foyer and would love family or child's contributions to our growing photo wall! There is no obligation to be involved but if you want to be involved here's what you and your child need to do...

1. Find a photo of your family or child being active that you are happy to have stuck to the wall in the gym foyer. It can be anything from playing ball with your dog at the park, bushwalking, to playing at the beach, doing your favourite sport or doing a fun activity together. I have put a photo up of our family playing ball with our dog, Billie!

2. Print one photo in a 6 x 4 (10.2cm x 15.2cm) format.

3. Bring your photo in to Mrs P. If your child can't find me, please leave the photo on my desk in my office in the gym. I will then put the photo up in the gym foyer to display.

Aims of our BPS Celebration of Movement

• To celebrate our community being active and healthy together.
• To show that organised sport is great but not the only way we stay active and moving!
• To learn new things about each other.
• To share our active family adventures.
• To find new ways to make connections to each other.

BPS Swimming Trials

Congratulations to our 32 strong team of swimmers who trialed at our before school swimming trials on Monday from 7.45am - 8.45am at Nunawading, Aqualink. These trials were to select our District Swimming Team. Our swimmers swam brilliantly and swam a variety of strokes over 50m including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. Well done to all our swimmers for their efforts and our amazing volunteers and families for your support!

Team VIC Cricket registrations close - Thursday 2nd February.

BPS Swimming trials – Monday 6th February 

BPS Tennis Clinics at school– Grades 1 – 4; each grade has 2 x 30 minutes sessions over two weeks.

Wednesday – Grade 3 and 4
