John XXIII students as ‘people for others’
This week, a number of our Year 11 and 12 students – pilgrims from 2019 or aspiring pilgrims for 2021 – generously gave presentations in Homerooms on how John XXIII Day is ‘our day’ as well as a day of being ‘people for others’
Speaking from their own personal experience of how our Loreto & Jesuit partners continue to work alongside some of the poorest and most marginalised persons on the planet, in India, Cambodia and Timor-Leste, they conveyed to the students how our support is needed more than ever during this pandemic. Teachers and students alike were inspired by their presentations.
In line with College policy fundraising during Term 3, and John XXIII Day in particular, is dedicated to Mary Ward International Australia and Jesuit Missions. Students have been generously preparing fundraising activities and today we celebrated the best of all that is our College community.
Jesuit Mission and Mary Ward International continue to welcome donations of any size. The links here enable anyone who would like to do so, to make a tax -deductible donation.

Interhouse Athletics Carnival
On Friday 31 July John XXIII College held their 2020 Fr Kevin King Cup Athletics Carnival at the WA State Athletics Stadium. We were blessed with beautiful sunny weather which was welcomed by all. Participation was excellent in all events and the contest was strong.
The carnival began with the traditional Year 12 entrance parade. The Year 12 students then presented their incredible and entertaining house performances to set the scene for what would be an exciting day. The novelty activities and numerous track events gave all students the opportunity to participate.
The result was close, it was a fight between St Louis and Campion. Congratulations to Campion for winning the Father Kevin King Cup for the second consecutive year. Well done to St Louis for taking out this year’s Spirit Award and also to Loreto for being the Best Dressed House.
