Office Interviews

by Tessa Schifferli

Do you really know what happens in the office? After an interview with Mrs Burge, I discovered that the office ladies have a variety of jobs that keep the school running. Their commitment helps teachers, parents, and students. The three wonderful people who run the office include Mrs Burge, Mrs Govender and Mrs Fraser. After a series of questions, my understanding and respect increased for the vital job in the school.

What do you do?

Working in the office requires a connection with parents, teachers, and students. As well as a massive variety of skills due to the many jobs. Everything to do with student attendance and absences is complete at the front office. This includes the roll, late notes, student absences, sick students, incomplete rolls, and signing out children. The Facebook page and newsletter is done brilliantly by Mrs Fraser. Another massive part of the job is first aid. Dealing with a scrape on the knee to a broken arm. They take care of all medications and sickness.

What do you love about the job?

Mrs Burge's reply to this question was that she loves being part of the community. Talking to all the students all the time and being able to interact with parents.

These hard-working ladies just ask for a smile when you come into the office.
