This term Year 3/4s have been investigating materials through their Chemical Science unit. Recently they have investigated and conducting experiments on absorbency and water resistance materials and were amazed to discover that nasturtium leaves from our school garden are waterproof ! Students have investigated how we can make natural food dye from vegetables growing in our Stephanie Alexander Food Garden and were excited to learn about tie dying with the dye extracted from purple cabbage. We are having lots of fun !
‘The Coffee Way’ have sold and made a stack of coffee and hot chocolates. Some students are becoming skilled in texturing the milk. Special thanks to Grace, Russell and Sarah who were at school at 7:30 am on some occasions. Our Recipient of the Golden Pitcher Award in Café Culture is Denzel. He is working on all aspects of his coffee making and helps others to learn. He arrives for early service and is a great team player.
We are also excited to have our personalised aprons. The students designed the logo and voted on the logo and name. Thanks to Deb Chilton for producing the Aprons over the weekend, they look great.
