Principal's News

Mandy O'Mara, Principal

As the threat of Covid 19 continues, the school has returned to a short lockdown. As disappointing and stressful as this can be, we are a strong community who have been here before and PCC aim to provide the best support possible to our school community.

Despite this lockdown, the school continues to operate and many things are still happening over this time. Some of the great things we are currently achieving are;

Community Hub:

After being advised that we were successful in securing funding for the Community Hub Australia program, we completed a recruitment processes for a Hub Leader. We are pleased to advise that Maria Charalambous was successful in securing the role.

We will be able to continue providing information regarding the establishment and roll out of this program once Maria officially commences in her role. To find out more about the community hub program, please see here.

Dogs Connect:

The Dogs Connect Program is underway and staff are currently completing training to ensure they are best placed to support the PCC Community. Starting later this term ‘Cookie’ will be commencing his work at PCC. The kids felt great pride in being able to vote for his name and have been undergoing education around the purpose of a wellbeing dogs and some basic steps to ensure his success. Communication around the program will be regularly shared with families, especially around the rules, regulations and expectations of the kids and their families.

NAPLAN:

We had a very successful NAPLAN. Everything was conducted seamlessly, and the students gained valuable experience in sitting exams. Both Students and Staff found the process to be really well organised and we look forward to sharing our results with you soon.

School Information Nights, High Achievers & Tours:

We have seen unprecedented number and increased interest in our Prep and Year 7 Information nights and Tours. It is great to see this level of interest in PCC. We have also had our first High Achievers Program Information night and had over 100 interested families. This is a great addition to PCC and we look forward to being able to deliver program this next year.

For now, please stay positive and we will see you all again soon!
