Tournament of Minds

Last year Moama Anglican Grammar took part in the Tournament of the Minds (TOM) regional competition at Shepparton. This was a great success and well supported by the participating students and their families.

In 2017 Moama Anglican Grammar is expanding our participation in the National TOM competition program for Year 3-6 students in the Primary School.

TOM is a problem solving program for teams of seven students. They are required to solve demanding, open-ended challenges from one of the following disciplines:

•  Science Technology

•  Language Literature

•  Engineering Mathematics

•  Social Sciences

We will begin the TOM program during Term 2 2017. The program will operate from Monday 8 May (week 4) after school from 3:15 to 4:30pm and will continue at this time into Term 3. There may also be a need for some lunch time sessions during Term 3.

Teams of seven students (maximum of four students from one year level) are required to work together on a Long Term Challenge (during Term 3) without assistance from teachers, parents or peers. Miss Briggs is looking to enter three teams of seven students for 2017.

Please bear in mind that the competition day is Saturday 26 August at LaTrobe University Campus, Shepparton.

We can only accept a maximum of 21 students from Year 3 to 6 for this competition.  If you have any questions please contact Miss Briggs in the Primary School.
