Faith and Learning Walks
Term 3
In Term 3 we will be conducting Faith and Learning walks as part of our weekly Parish Mass visits.
As Fr Dan is attending World Youth Day in Portugal from weeks 2-5, Mrs Woodhouse and Mrs Moss will conduct either a short liturgy or SPaR session with the grade rostered on. Families are invited to join.
This will replace Parish Mass attendance for our students and families, while Fr Dan is away.
From Week 6, when Fr Dan returns, we will resume our Parish Mass attendance and then engage in a classroom learning walk before having a morning tea picnic with your child and their class.
Liturgies/SPaR sessions and Parish Masses will all begin at 9am.
Mini Vinnies Gathering Day 2023
Mr Heelis and I had the honour to take our Mini Vinnies Leaders to the Mini Vinnies Gathering day at ACU Strathfield yesterday.
It was a wonderful opportunity to network with students from other Sydney Catholic Schools and share ideas around how we can give a 'Hand Up not a Hand Out' to improve the lives of people in our local communities.
The student leaders discussed ideas around inclusion, fundraising, specific needs of local communities and ways to recycle, upcycle and care for our environment.
Our Mini Vinnies Leaders were a credit to our school with their impeccable behaviour and eager engagement. We have lots of new ideas to put into practice, so watch this space!
Grandparents Day
Thank you to all of our amazing parents and Grandparents who attended our Grandparents Day on Wednesday.
We celebrate the wonderful role our Grandparents play in our lives.
I remember when I met Queen Elizabeth just before Prince George was born in 2013 and she said to me "The best thing about being a grandparent and now a great grandparent is you get to play with them and have all of the fun and then send them back to their parents when they get cranky"
Fundraising
Next Friday the 4th August, we will be hosting Jersey Day! Wear your favourite teams Jersey to school with your sports uniform to help raise money for some of our Year 6 sporting stars. Please bring in a GOLD COIN donation.
For the next few weeks, Charli and Audrey from Year 6 will be selling Zooper Dooper ice-blocks on the playground at both Lunch 1 and Lunch 2 for $1 each.
They are raising funds to help them travel to Darwin and Tasmania to represent Sydney in Touch Football and Hockey. We thank our families for their support so far in the fundraising efforts.
Congratulations girls, we are so proud of your achievements and we cannot wait to hear how well you excel!
In Christ,
Mrs Nicole Moss
