Walkathon

Monday 8 August is a special day for our College. Our College celebrates the Feast day of Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop. This year we are celebrating Mass at 9.15am at the College and then students will be travelling from the College by bus to the Koonwarra Rail Trail at Koonwarra.  Students and staff will walk back to the College where a free lunch will be provided for the students.

Students will be required to bring something small to eat at recess before the walk.

Currently the weather forecast for 8 August is predicting typical weather for August, so we encourage all students to bring a raincoat to wear and a change of clothes. Backpacks  may be carried on the walk or left at school.

Students should:

1.    Wear their full College winter sports uniform

2.    Bring a raincoat

3.    Bring a small snack for recess

4.    Bring water to drink

Bring a change of clothes for after the walk.

Charities being Sponsored for 2022

$3000 ‘Project Kenya’ exists to support the Embulbul community of Nairobi, Kenya. The charity gives a quality education to the poor. Funds raised assist the ongoing running costs of the school and it’s various projects for improvements.

$3000 The Disabled Surfers Association Bass Coast hosts annual events during the summer months to help people with a range of disabilities to engage in the sport of surfing. Funds raised would help purchase specialised equipment, like beach access wheelchairs, special surfboards and padding, and wetsuits designed to allow access and retrieval to individuals with limited mobility. The association relies entirely on volunteer support.

$3000 Shepherd’s Table provides meals to those in need on a fortnightly basis. The charity relies on volunteers from Our Lady Help of Christians Parish in Narre Warren and people from Cranbourne, Dandenong and Noble Park. 40 and 50 people each fortnight rely on this charity for food.
