Rapid Antigen Tests
Rapid antigen tests will continue to be distributed to families every second Friday leading up to the end of term. It is recommended that tests be performed twice weekly on school days. However if children present with symptoms, a test should be conducted as soon as possible. All positive results must be reported to the school and to the Department of Health system (Rapid antigen tests | Coronavirus Victoria) or via the coronavirus hotline at 1800 675 398.
Parents are also advised of the following change: If a student tests positive through a rapid antigen test, but does not have symptoms or has not been in contact with anyone who has COVID-19, it is recommended that they get a PCR test within 48 hours and stay isolated until they receive their result. If the PCR test is negative, the student can return to school. Please notify the school if this occurs
Positive Start in 2022 Initiative
Information has been emailed to each family regarding the Victorian Government's Positive Start 2022 Holiday Camp Initiative. The Government is offering the chance for eligible students to attend a free camp program as part of the Positive Start in 2022 initiative, during the 2022 school holiday periods.
Holiday camp programs can range from single overnight experiences to spending several nights away.

- reside in out-of-home care (temporary or permanent)
- are students with a disability
- are from a refugee background
- are Indigenous students.
Please refer to the email sent for full details and how to register your interest.
Landscaper Wanted
I've searched high and low (but maybe not close enough) for a landscaper to design and complete some landscape works and/or improvements around the school. If you have a contact or you are in the business yourself, I'd be really interested in talking to you.
Please give me a call through the school office on 9314 7303 or email me at principal@cckingsville.catholic.edu.au
Cross Country
Last Friday our school cross country team competed in the Footscray District Cross Country Carnival at Hansen Reserve. Our children competed solidly with a number of top-ten finishes.
The top six from each age group are invited to the next stage of competition so congratulations to Sophie Fitzsimon and Jackson Caguioa for making it through.
School Athletics Carnival
Information will be forwarded this week (via Operoo) regarding our School Athletics Carnival which will be held on Monday 28th March, at Moonee Ponds Athletics Track (Aberfeldie Park).
All children (Year Prep - Year 6) will be transported by bus and will return around 1:30 pm.
Buses will be leaving at 9:10 am so please have your children at school on time
Children will eat lunch upon their return to school.
Children will need to:
- Wear their sports uniform and wear a T-shirt of their team’s colour
- Bring a refillable water bottle
- Bring play lunch (please pack an extra ‘something’ as the children will not be having lunch until they return to school)
- Bring a small backpack to put everything in
- Have an extra-large breakfast!
We will also need a number of parents to volunteer to assist with events so please indicate your availability on the Operoo Form being sent home. Parents will be contacted prior to the day confirming your attendance. Please note volunteers MUST be double vaccinated and have an up-to-date WWCC.
As mentioned all this information will be forwarded to families via Operoo. Our Athletics Carnival is always a lot of fun so let's hope the weather is kind to us.

Health Care Cards & Camps Sports and Excursion Fund (CSEF)
A reminder that families who hold a valid Health Care Card for the 2022 year are able to receive a government rebate through the Camp, Sports and Excursion Fund (CSEF) which is currently set at $125 per primary aged child. Applications for the CSEF can be collected from the school office.
We also offer a further rebate of $175 for eligible families to assist with fee and levy commitments.
We encourage all families who hold a Health Care Card to submit details to the school office by the end of March.
Have a wonderful week
