Library Lovers' Day Celebrations
Celebrating Library Lovers' Day on the 14 February 2021
To celebrate Library Lovers’ Day on Sunday 14 February, our library promoted the following events.
Our library monitors have been busy preparing our Blind Date with a Book interactive display.
Students were invited to date a book based on some genre clues and to post their book review in the box provided. There will be a prize for the best book review.
Everyone was also invited to jot down on the heart templates what they love about our library and to post it in the box provided. These hearts are displayed on the Library Lovers’ Day board.
The first movie we showed to celebrate Library Lovers’ Day was Inkheart based on the Cornelia Funke’s first book in her trilogy, Inkheart. This movie was screened in LIBM on Tuesday 9, Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 February.
The library will be adding these books to the collection soon.
Craft Club returned Friday 12 February with CD Weaving. Students had the opportunity to make a CD Dreamcatcher. This is a great club for students and will increase their confidence as they learn a new skill.
Opportunities for student lunchtime club leadership will also be introduced this year – some students have already expressed an interest in this.
Loved seeing our students starting on another library display. Such a wonderful opportunity to build their self-esteem and school pride.
