LUNCHTIME CLUBS
Anime Club - Mondays LIBM
Anime Club leaders (Caitlyn, Grace and Olivia) have met to plan activities for Term 2. The club will resume in Week 3. They have come up with some wonderful ideas for team members to creatively express themselves, collaborate with each other and celebrate their shared passions and interests.
Chess - Tuesdays LIBM
Chess Club begins this Tuesday in LIBM at lunchtime. There will be a running competition throughout Term 2. Teachers are also invited to join in with this friendly competition.
Craft Club - Fridays LIBM
Craft Club is currently making God’s Eyes. We will be trying out other craft activities too this term such as Pom Poms. The students feel safe and free to express themselves and share their interests. Some of the music choices are quite interesting such as ‘Some Enchanted Evening’ and Simon & Garfunkel’s ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’.
LIBRARY DISPLAYS
ANZAC Day
The completed ANZAC Day display. We will be dismantling this display later this week so make sure you explore it before it’s too late.
World Book Day
The library will be preparing a display dedicated to World Book Day (23rd April) and highlighting some of the significant authors that have contributed to our love of reading, literature, and the social and cultural progress of humanity. It was a delayed celebration for us as our focus was on ANZAC Day last week.
The themes for World Book Day 2021 are ‘Share Your Story’ and #bookface. Students and staff are invited to share which book(s) have made a difference in their life.
For those who like to have a bit of fun, see if you can find a book in the library to create a #bookface. This is created by finding a book with the image of a character’s head that you hold over your face. The library staff will take your photo and share it on our library Team page and display. Alternatively, you can do a selfie with a book at home and add it to our CSC Library Team page. The best #bookface will win a prize!
STEM Display
During Term 2 and 3, the library foyer windows will be showcasing the STEM creations of our students. The students love seeing their work as they make their way into the library. There are some unique mobile phone inventions and 3-D printing creations.
Student Gallery
Our Student Gallery is now displaying the posters created by STEM classes.
Vikings – LIB
Ms Roberts has done a brilliant job in putting together our Vikings display (a topic of great interest to her). There is even a Vikings ship template for students to create a model like the one in the display.
World War 1 – LIB
Our World War 1 display will be up soon in LIB to support Year 9 HUMS classes. Victorian High-Ability Program (VHAP) classes Our VHAP students met for their first virtual school class. After some initial login issues for a couple of the students, they settled well into their learning enhancement lesson. Below are some photos of the English stream class.

NAPLAN
The NAPLAN practice testing went well in the library last week – the ideal location for such an event. Our team then worked hard at printing and preparing NAPLAN practice material for Year 7 and 9 classes.
