It's cooling down across the country. Here's our top tips for being asthma ready as the temperatures drop:
✅ Take your preventer every day, even when well
✅ Wear a scarf around your mouth and nose when outside in the cold. This can help humidify and warm the air you are breathing and reduce symptoms.
✅ Plan to exercise during the warmer parts of the day. Be sure to warm up and cool down and follow treatment advice for exercise induced asthma.
✅ Practice safe hugiene by washing your hands regularly, sneezing and coughing into a tissue or your elbow.
✅ Staying up to date with your flu shot and COVID boosteres can help support your immune system.
✅ Be mindful l about what heating systems are around you. Try to find healthier heating options where possible. Clean your heating systems where appropriate.
