Principal's Report

Welcome to winter - the cold weather seems to have kicked in! A reminder to encourage the children to please dress appropriately!

I hope that all of our families enjoyed some time together for Mothers' Day and our BPS mums were rightly spoiled!

Parent Contributions

Thank you to all of those families who have already made financial contributions in 2023, currently we have received around 65% of our expected parent contributions. These payments allow our school to offer the high quality educational programs that we have at BPS. Parent Contributions are available for payment via compass course confirmations. Recurring contributions (payment plans) can be set up when making payment, and the office can assist you in changing the dates/amounts to suit your needs.

The funds parents provide to our School by the Department of Education alone are not enough to support the full costs of running the school as well as providing excellent education opportunities for all students.

To allow our school to continue to provide the same high level of programs, facilities and equipment, we ask you to consider both the Curriculum and Other contributions. Without contribution of funds, there will be limited opportunities for new or replacement of equipment & classroom furniture, and existing resources will need to be stretched even further, adversely impacting our staff and students.

We also welcome your additional voluntary contributions to support specific purposes, such as the building fund and we are looking forward to make some exciting announcements about school upgrades shortly.

District Cross Country

On Friday 12th May some of our amazing Year 3-6 cross country runners competed at the District Cross Country. The team came back the overall winner’s shield and the most improved school shield! We congratulate our runners on their dedication and sportsmanship. Well done to the students who qualify for the next level of competition.

Thanks to Mrs Pickford and our many Running Club parent volunteers who work tirelessly to train and prepare our children for events such as this.

We have some amazing kids at our school! Not only did we have 12 students make it through to the next stage, but every single one of our team cheered each other on and supported their peers. We’re all so proud of you all!

A huge congratulations to those 12 who made it through to Division Cross Country -

Farewell Jackie Kapoor

This week we say farewell and good luck to Jackie Kapoor our Business Manager since 2018 who has been successfully appointed to a new role at a school closer to her home. I am sure that our BPS community will share in the excitement of this news. Jackie has been the first point of call for so many of our community. As our school Business Manager Jackie has created a great office environment embedding processes and practices to support the smooth running of the school. We wish Jackie the very best in her new role

Farewell Mrs Storto

On Friday we bid farewell to Steph Storto, our fabulous Grade 3 teacher.  Steph has made a huge impact at BPS in her time here, building so many close friendships with staff and families.  Good luck Steph, with your new baby and family.  We look forward to meeting your new family member soon.

Farewell Mrs Felicite

This week we have also said a sad farewell to Kirralee Felicite, she has been an incredible teacher here at our school and we wish her and her family all the very best as they embark on adventure to move interstate. We hope that Kirralee and BPS's paths will cross again in the future.

Welcome Mr Kalogeropoulos

Welcome to Tristan Kalogeropoulos who has joined us to replace Steph and Kirralee in the Year 3 class. Tristan comes to BPS from Jells Park Primary and we know his experience and expertise will be a great addition to BPS.

PARENT–TEACHER PARTNERSHIPS

It's been so nice to see so many parent helpers back supporting the learning in our school. I recently read this excellent article from The Raising Children Network about building healthy partnerships with your child's teacher which I encourage you to read -

Developing a healthy parent-teacher relationship is a great way to improve your child’s performance in school.
