What's been happening at Girraween Public School in Term 1 ? 

What an exciting start to the year we have had. 

We have enrolled 1172 students into our wonderful school including 145 eager new Kindergarten students. 

We welcomed parents into our classrooms for our "Parent Welcome Afternoon", we had a great day out at our Swimming Carnival, we participated in PSSA Gala Days and we have begun sending children on some wonderful excursions. 

Congratulations to our students who represented our school at the zone swimming carnival. All reports indicate they showed outstanding sportsmanship, courage and determination. 

We would also like to congratulate our Year 3 and Year 5 students on completing their NAPLAN tests. This year's NAPLAN parent reports will see the 10 traditional NAPLAN bands and national minimum standard removed in favour of four proficiency categories: exceeding; strong; developing; and needs additional support. Congratulations to all students on completing these tests ! We will let you know when these reports become available.
