2023 CASTLEMAINE DOCUMENTARY FESTIVAL

The 2023 Castlemaine Documentary Festival, now in its ninth year, is back from16-18 June at the iconic Theatre Royal in Castlemaine, mainland Australia’soldest continuously operating cinema.

With 8 feature documentaries, 2 celebrations, an Augmented Reality Showcaseand a Special Family and Youth focused YURT! program, 2023 is shaping up to bean experience not to be missed - where NO ONE HAS THE LAST WORD.

LOCALS 2023

This year the festival introduces asecond venue, The Yurt, abeautiful micro-cinema with analternative program of family -

friendly sessions across the Saturday & Sunday mornings with an enticing programs foryouth in the afternoons and

evenings – as well as animmersive interactive parlourgame, Werewolves - for those whodare!

 

SENSILAB

On Friday 16th from 2- 5:30pm SENSILAB presents at the Phee Broadwaybringing cutting edge technologies and unique storytelling narrative techniquesto regional Victorian audiences for the first time.

 

An interactive, Augmented Reality App will be available for download free toall festival goers for the duration of the festival weekend. Uncover a new way of discovering Castlemaine -with a narrative soundscape as you interact with thefestival over the weekend.

 

VOLUNTEER with us in 2023…

Volunteering with the Festival can also be a great way to learn more about filmmaking and the media industry. You can share your passion with like-minded people and rub shoulders with an exceptional range of filmmakers andpractitioners. You can also gain valuable industry experience and learn newskills.
